Step by step procedure for configuring availability monitoring
You may centrally monitor the performance of your SAP R/3 System landscape using the SAP CCMS (Computer Center Management System) monitor. It uses the new centralize monitoring architecture from SAP to retrieve and report metrics. From a single Centralized Server, the SAP administrator may monitor every server, component, and resource in his R/3 environment.
Monitoring
System-wide monitoring and automated reporting are both capabilities of your CCMS. It generates notifications that are color coded and given a severity rating. One of the finest features of the CCMS monitoring architecture is the flexibility of its framework, which enables you to monitor your particular business environment in the way that works best for you. The components of the monitoring architecture work substantially independently of one another rather than being part of a single overarching monitoring and management application.
The CCMS alert monitor includes:
v All components have status indications (green, yellow, and red).
v If a status indicator is not within the green range, an alert is sent.
v Simple approaches for alert analysis are available.
v tracking and control of alerts.
v Monitoring of host systems, databases, and the SAP system in full and in detail.
Step by Step CCMS Configure :
Step 1 :
Download the satellite system's ccmsagent (unicode or non-unicode, database independent) accessible along with the kernel files. Only the most recent version is offered; version independent.
Step 2 :
Copy the downloaded ccmagentfile to the satellite system, unpack it (using the below-listed extraction command), then copy the extracted file and paste it into the appropriate folder path \usr\sap\PRFCLOG .
Step 3 :
Logon to ADMINISTRATIOR user
Step 3.1 : open command prompt
Step 3.2 : Visit the PRFCLOG location where the extracted files were copied.
Step 3.3 : run “ccmsping –push –n00 –r” command.
Step 4 :
Enter the monitoring system's information after executing the ccmsping command:
SAP System ID | <enter the SID> |
Client No | (can also be done in default 000 client) |
User | <username> |
Language | EN(Default) |
<SID>-MS hostname | <Hostname or Host system IP> |
Load Balance | n |
App.server hostname | Hostname or IP(leave it default) |
System Number | <Central Instance Number> |
Router String | Optional |
Trace Level | 0(Default) |
Pwd from solman | ****** |
It is necessary to have a gateway system for RFC communication. Assign the gateway connection to the same monitoring system. Input the monitoring system's information.
Step 5 :
Create an user CSMREG, if not exists.
CSMREG user creation process
Step 5.1 : Logon to RZ21 T-Code (Monitoring System)
Step 5.2 : Choose Technical Infrastructure >>> then click Configure Central System >>> Make a CSMREG user.
For RFC communication purposes once more, we must submit the user data listed below.
User name | CSMREG (User type: “communication”) |
Client No | 100 (can also be done in default 000 client, provided CSMREG exists) |
Language | EN (Default) |
<SID>-MS hostname | (Hostname or Host system IP) |
Load Balance | n |
App.server hostname | Hostname or IP (leave it default) |
System Number | 00 (Central Instance Number) |
Router String | Optional |
Trace Level | 0 (Default) |
Pwd from csmreg | ****** |
Start type service ought to be set to AUTO.
Step 5.3 : In the Satellite System, verify the CCMSPING.00 service file now (It should be in started mode)
Step 5.4 : RFC SUCCESSFULLY CREATED (chek in SM59 transaction, monitoring system).
Step 6 :
Make a note in the file of the monitored system (Monitoring System) C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services
Make the entry as ‘sapms<SID> 3600/tcp’ (SID of monitored sys)
Step 7 :
Step 7.1 : Go to RZ21 T-Code (Monitoring System)
Select technical infrastructure –> availability monitoring –> configure CCMSPING availability mon.
Step 7.2 : Configure availability and performance overview
select Monitoring -> Create System
Step 7.3 : In the little box that appears, enter the SID of the system to be watched and click Continue.
select Copy connection data and options
Finally SAVE the changes and ACTIVATE logon checks.
Step 8 :
Check to see if the newly added system can be monitored.
Step 8.1 : Go to Transaction RZ20
SAP CCMS monitoring temp –> Availability and performance overview –> Double click
a monitoring satellite system is available. effectively produced.
Step 8.2 : Turning off the SAP Satellite system will allow you to view the statistics.
