How To Change Default Logon Client in SAP System

 

Purpose of Change Default Logon Client

End user lacks technical knowledge regarding client administration. They will therefore attempt to login on the screen without altering the necessary client.

Because of this, the SAP System needs to have default logon configuration. Using a parameter from the Default Profile, this is doable.

 

After a system installation, SAP GUI will by default launch with client 001.


Below Steps for setting the parameter in the Default profile.

 STEP 1: Logon to your SAP System using any client.

STEP 2: Run Transaction RZ10, choose Edit Profile as Extended Maintenance from the drop-down menu, and then click Change.

 STEP 3: The default profile profile contains a list of the parameters. To add a new parameter, click the "Create" button .

 STEP 4:     Fill up the parameter name box with login/system client.

 STEP 5:    Put the client number of the client you wish to make the default client on the SAPGUI logon page in the Parameter value box.

 STEP 6:     Press the button “Copy”

STEP 7: Return and save the modifications.

 STEP 8: You can see the default profile profile with the status "Not Saved" when you return to the RZ10 transaction's beginning screen.

STEP 9: Continue with the subsequent  steps to save and apply the changes.

 STEP 10:     Choose "Save" from the better menu's options.

STEP 11:      To activate the new default profile profile, choose "Yes."

STEP 12:     A notice confirming the modifications may be seen.

STEP 13:     The next notice instructs you to restart the computer so that the modifications will take effect.

STEP 14:      Again, you can see the updated default profile profile on the first screen of the RZ10 transaction.

STEP 15: At last, you may notice the new client number that was set in the login/system client parameter when you launch the SAPGUI logon page; in this instance, the client number is 200.
